Michael Hoffman - Chairman and CEO

Michael has 30+ years’ experience in financial services with specific expertise in the energy and life science sectors.  He is a former Partner at Riverstone Holdings where he was principally responsible for investments in power and renewable energy for Riverstone’s funds.  Riverstone is an energy and power-focused private equity firm with approximately $37 billion of equity capital raised across seven investment funds, including the world’s largest renewable energy fund.  Michael was co-head of Riverstone’s Renewable Energy Funds and led the teams responsible for all power investments in its six conventional energy funds, with total equity capital commitments of approximately $7 billion.  While at Riverstone, Michael was a member of the Board of Directors of Buckeye Partners, L.P., Enviva Partners, LP, Pattern Energy Group Inc. and Talen Energy Corporation, Silver Ridge Power, Seajacks, AES Solar, ThermaSource, ReEnergy Holdings, Green Earth Fuels, Coastal Carolina Clean Power, Sapphire Power Holdings, and Raven Power Finance, among others.

Prior to joining Riverstone in 2003, Michael was Senior Managing Director and Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions advisory business of The Blackstone Group for 15 years.  While at Blackstone, Michael was a member of the Private Equity Investment Committee and was a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.  Prior to Blackstone, Michael was Co-Head of Mergers & Acquisitions at Smith Barney & Co. 

Michael has been an active life sciences investor and is currently the Chairman of Annovis Bio an NYSE listed Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s drug discovery company as well as being a board member of CardiaCures and AACT. He has been on numerous other boards of life science companies as well as an investor in many public and private companies seeking to improve health outcomes.

Michael received a BA and an MA from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is currently on the board of the Rockefeller University and has previously served on the boards of Lenox Hill Hospital and Northwell Health.

Jane Hoffman - President

Jane has 30+ years of experience in finance and public policy. Most recently Jane has been a fellow at the Mossavar-Rahmani Center for Business and Government at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Advanced Leadership Institute. Previously Jane was a public official in New York. She was commissioner of both public authority reform for New York State and the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, commission member of the NYC Fund for Public Advocacy, and on the advisory commission of the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs. She has authored two books, Green: Your Place in the New Energy Revolution and Your Data, Their Billions: Unraveling and Simplifying Big Tech. She received a BS from Northwestern University where she is a trustee, and has been a director of the Museum of the City of New York, Childless Mothers Adopt, Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, and The Leadership Forum.

Avi Das - Partner

Avi has 20+ years’ experience in financial services and currently serves as CFO of TDAC. Prior to joining Stone Capital Partners, he ran an advisory firm, ACD Analytics, where he worked with investment funds and operating companies on investments, mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance.  Prior to ACD Analytics, Avi was an Associate at Riverstone where he worked extensively on renewable energy investments.  Prior to Riverstone, Avi was an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs.  Avi received a BA from Amherst College and an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
